QuickBrainTest benchmarks and methodology

These statistics describe voluntarily submitted, completed QuickBrainTest runs. They do not describe unique people, a representative population or clinical norms. Collection began on October 4, 2026. There is no historical backfill and no simulated data.

When comparisons become available

Each cohort needs at least 100 accepted submissions before we publish its mean, median, 25th and 75th score quantiles or show a result comparison. This is a reporting threshold, not a guarantee of representativeness. We separate games, modes, input types and scoring versions. Until then, we publish counts only.

Scoring and inclusion rules

Reaction Time uses the mean of five valid trials, in milliseconds; every trial must be between 80 and 3,000 ms to enter the dataset. CPS uses clicks divided by the selected duration. Schulte Table records seconds to finish the selected grid. Aim Test records seconds to finish 15 targets. Memory games retain their game-specific score: digits or numbers successfully completed, or the level reached where the game reports that value. Quiz scores and timed-game points follow the rules displayed on their game page. Lower times are better; higher count scores are better. Word-game results are wins or losses separated by language.

Inputs are grouped as mouse, touch, pen, keyboard or unknown. This is an input category, not a verified hardware profile. We reject unknown modes, impossible score ranges, malformed requests, expired or reused tokens and excess submissions within the same temporary session (30 per hour). Hidden-tab runs are not submitted. Collection is versioned: changed scoring rules will receive a new version and will not be pooled with existing results.

How the statistics are calculated

The mean is the sum of accepted scores divided by submission count. Quantiles use the nearest-rank method on sorted scores. A result comparison is the percentage of other submissions with strictly worse scores; tied scores are not counted as worse. For a just-submitted result, that result is excluded from the comparison denominator. These figures are based on submissions, not deduplicated participants.

Limitations and privacy

Results are measured in the browser and submitted by the client. Validation filters obvious errors, but does not prove a human played or prevent all automation. Repeat runs, self-selection, device latency and practice effects can bias the dataset. Do not interpret these values as IQ, medical results or evidence of improved everyday cognition. We store game, mode, score, input type, scoring version and UTC day, without names, email addresses, IP addresses, country or persistent participant identifiers in the result dataset. Hosting security logs are separate.

Personal history stays in your browser (last 30 runs per game). Sharing is off by default, starts only after you opt in, applies to future completed runs, and can be turned off below any game. Privacy policy.

Timing reference: MDN: high precision timing. Timing precision does not eliminate display or input latency.
